Joy of Christ Lutheran Church
EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN AMERICA
|

Mission
"Our mission is to celebrate Jesus Christ as our Savior and to reach out to all with this Good News. We seek to enrich our relationship with God
through worship, learning, witness, service, and fellowship. We are caretakers of God's creation. We will affirm each other's spiritual gifts and care for
all without reserve joyfully sharing God's love."
History
Joy of Christ Lutheran Church was founded as Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in 1960 as a Mission congregation of the American Lutheran Church . In
1992 the name of the Congregation was officially changed to Joy of Christ Lutheran Church. Today we continue to be a vibrant community of faith
that seeks to enable people to live their faith in the world through worship, Bible study, and various fellowship activities.
Missionary Work
Throughout our history, service to the community and the world have been key to our vision of ministry. Our commitment to raising money for world
hunger is legendary and we remain committed to our ministry at I.H.S., Angel Network, and with Operation Backpack to feed and clothe those who are
in need locally. Viewing our property and facility as a resource for the community, and seeking to be good and faithful stewards with which we have
been entrusted, our facility is heavily used by a variety of outside groups during the week (A.A., N.A., Family Peace Center). We also continue to look
for ways to support our military members and friends as they are deployed throughout the world, sending care packages and other gifts of care
throughout the year.
